Default Ford Bumper Bar Assembly

Hello all, Dad and I recently acquired a 1941 12 cab Ford F15A, It needs some finishing restoration work, brakes, panels etc.
One thing we are having trouble with is putting the bumper and brace bar assembly together, the previous owners assembled it incorrectly, with the bar on the outside of the bumper and we don't know how to bolt it all together with it on the inside.
Below is a picture of ours as it is now, Any pictures or diagrams telling us how to correct it would be greatly appreciated.

Will try to find some pics soon, but basically the spring bumper, or radiator protector goes behind the bumper on a cab 12 and early cab 13s, being held in place by oddly shaped u bolts which pass through the bumper and hold on the towing 'D's which are in the wrong location on your example. There is also another odd shaped casting which goes between the back of the bumper and the lower bit of the spring bumper as a filler.

Hope this helps.

I think the "oddly shaped casting" piece is going to be the biggest problem then.
It's the filler part that confuses us most. A picture of that in particular would be great.
Thanks

I should be able to do that for you Thursday.
They're a little hard to find as you can imagine... but they're a neat fit.

I should have mentioned the U bolts are shaped to fit snugly around the back of the spring bumper then are formed to conform with the larger holes for the 'D's.
On later Ford CMP cab 13s the bracket for the 'D' is formed to accommodate the spring bumper on the front of the bar.

Default Here are the two types

First, a later cab 13

and an earlier cab 13 - this one on a FGT with winch fairleads incorporated.

Will get the bracket pics in a couple of days.

Default Front Bumper - F8 - No. 11 Cab

Luke:
I have recently purchased a F8 with a No. 11 cab that does not have a front bumper. I do, however, have the brush guard. (Don't know how the bumper got lost and not the guard!) Your pictures of how the guard is affixed to the bumper will be very helpful when I fasten mine to its bumper.

However I need the measurements of the bumper itself. I need the length, width (think it must be 5" wide channel) as well as the depth of the channel. I also need a picture of how the bumper is attached to the frame. Any pictures of yours would be very helpful!

Your assistance will be most appreciated!

Regards,
Jim

Quick question, but why is the brush guard in question on the front of the bumper and not behind it??? Same goes for Keiths photo. They should both be in the inside. The Chev has 1 leaf in front and 2 behind the bumper. The Fords all have the three spring leaves behind the bumper.

On ours it has been placed on wrong, because the spacer block is missing it isn't possible to hold it in place behind the bumper.
Basically someone messed up.

Rick some of the later Ford cab 13's had the brush guard on the outside as Keith said and the photo shows. The first photo is a restoration done the wrong way.
