Default Good find

Hi Jack

Interesting tidbits of information, the link to the archives leads into other stuff. One of better parts of the web is the ability to store and share information.

Cheers Phil

Greetings Eric and Phil.

Yes, lot of information in those war diaries, but the searching is tedious. Too bad there is not a word search function. I think such thing would be possible, but it would mean re-scanning everything with the appropriate software.

Wish I had more census numbers to report (myself am specifically looking for a possible serial for a 15cwt with the Algonquins), but after that initial find, nothing more after sifting through the remaining 800+ pages of that particular file.

I do recall reading a 'memo' of sorts, stating that units had to provide a census list of all vehicles at the end of every month. Maybe these never made it into the diaries, or heaven forbid, the government employee decided to skip those

Did spot a lone number, looks to be a recall on a 15cwt CZ4257916 at the bottom of the page under NOTICES:

Default Sn

Lots to look at. The WW2 monthly Audits of bases and units within Canada was to show the vehicle SN and DND numbers and operational status. But seems these were purged from some files.

Thanks
Eric
