Default Loyd Carrier oil seal

Hi can any one help we have had oil/grease leak though on to the brakes on the drive axle and looks like the oil seal worn the trouble never seen one before I guess being a loyd the axle would be the same as a Fordson Thames v7 can any one out there to get a new one or an alternative. and at the moment I can not seam to upload photos

I got mine from Mac's vintage ford parts in the U.S.

Hi Richard, it should be the standard 1940-46 Ford 3 ton hub seal. To remove you have to flick out the retaining ring with a couple of small screw drivers , can be tricky sometimes, depending on the condition of this ring , then it just taps out with the inner bearing, Cheers Andrew.

Some axles have two seals and some only have one. They all have an inner seal. When there are both seals (and I recommend fitting an outer seal pair, if you dont have them) In this case, the diff oil can travel the axle tube, but should be stopped at the outer seal. The bearings are grease packed and the inner seal only has the grease to contend with. This makes it unlikely that you will get oil on the linings. Make sure the tell tale hole is clear.

What I want is the oil seal i have removed it but its worn and aloud the grease to get on the brake shoes

Try Belcher Engineering Ltd in Norfolk, they can supply parts for old Fords, I am sure I got some seals from them for a Carrier axle some years back.

Thank you every one, especially Tony, that part number was spot on got two on order from America through from Vintage ford Dave O'Neil
