Bracket ID
Sir,
The 2 little brackets with puny sheet metal stampings are to hold the front of your seat frame to the floor. I know that a couple of 1/4" bolts seems like overkill, but that is what was used at the front. The seat slides into a much wider bracket for the rear of the seat, then those 2 small tabs hold the frame down to the floor. You are indeed missing a strap that connects the lower tubes of the seat frame. These must have been welded on the afternoon shift, beacuse mine fell of also. Or maybe just a fat guy leaned back too far - this also happened to my '03 Silverado . Good luck. Stewart |

On all the NZ based CMPs I've seen,
Those little brackets hold down the back of the seat frame which extends about one inch each side, and the wider bracket holds the front edge of the seat base, out of sight under the seat itself.
Could the window frame be from a HUP rear door? Does the floor bracket behind the seat have a raised edge? Hard to see clearly in the image. I usually stow stuff behind the seat, but things can roll or slide while driving, so a shallow box would be a useful modification. My C8AX has a raised angle frame fitted on top of the doghouse. Very useful to hold small bits and pieces on trips. Rob |

Here they are!
The pics show a rear hold down clip for the seat from the side,
and the front clip looking from the front of the seat. Now these seat clips are on a Chev. Note the seat frame has angle end pieces front and rear. I have seen another style of seat frame with folded channels front and rear, which may be Ford. Whichever style you have the clips will work on both. Last edited by Rob Beale; 16-02-09 at 08:24. Round Hatch
Eric, Does the vehicle have a round hatch? If yes, then I believe it is part of the hatch cover retention "system".

Calling Phil Waterman
Hey Phil, do you have a photo of your interior hatch arrangement? For that matter does anyone else have photos of the same? If so, please post them - I too am curious...

Have this on my 45 HUP
Quote:
I don't have a picture that I can find (will keep looking) but as I remember, when I got my HUP it had a spring which was looped through the canvas straps that comes through the roof from around the cover. The spring was then attached through a bolt stuck through pair of the holes. The multiple holes allow for adjusting the tension. Cheers Phil
