Here's an interesting drawing showing how a ship was loaded with equipment in 1943 bound for North Africa.

I knew I had seen this diagram before.
Sapper740 posted it in July last year on this Forum. Still interesting though, and makes you think of the many lives lost by the Merchant Navies of all nations during war time. To load so many different, and potentially lethal, items on to the same vessel would probably cause shippers to have a heart attack nowadays. Paul. |
