Well MLU-ers ... your MLU quiet and peace is over. I'm back ... I think (am I dreaming?) Don't know if this will keep working for me but keep fingers crossed.

(Welcome back)

Well ... it was a longshot anyways although I was almost blown away the other night ... my/our power was blown out for a few hours. Some others in town and other towns not so lucky. Ouch!

My doors and windows were open when the big wind suddenly hit ... blew all my papers all over my apartment and was prettyscarey for a few minutes ... just as suddenly as it hit, it passed. Incredible ...

(good to be back though)

NEWS - Downdrafts Caused Friday's Destruction
Downdrafts were the cause of the widespread damage from Friday's severe storm, that wreaked havoc throughout the region... not a tornado. That's the official report from Environment Canada on Tuesday morning.

Meteorologist Gabor Fricska says it was caused by a fairly extensive line of thunderstorms moving up from the US, adding they haven't found any damage tracks consistent with funnel clouds.

He says the winds were out of the southwest, and the way most of the trees fell, suggests that there was no rotation.

Fricksa says the wind, which reached 108 km/h in Cranbrook was consistent with the wind that knocked down many trees in Vancouver's Stanley Park recently.

For the most part, residents in Cranbrook, Kimberley and Fernie and the surrounding area should have both their power and telephone services back up and running as of Tuesday morning.

Crews spent the weekend working to restore power following Friday's severe windstorm.

Darn and here I was enjoying the peace and quiet.

I guess Ma will now take me to pieces rather then leaving me in peace

In all seriousness - WELCOME BACK MA!

Thanks guys ... it's good to be back. Life is very strange without a daily internet connection to all of you and my computer life and projects. Makes me really notice how different my life is ... partly age life difference and roles, and partly all the health and other limitations now ... but very different from "what once was" (I was always all over the place out and about and/or always busy making or doing something LOL) I have been using the library but have to get in the habit of actually reading right through books again (I usually just look at the pictures now ... eyes too old and hands disobedient to holding books for too long ) ... at any rate ... this time out (more than a month?) has been an interesting time.

Weather expected to hit 36 celcius or so today ... I shall melt ... just like Tim Tams in the Oz heat ...............

Ah ... Norm and Betty ... do you have any idea about how absolutely nice and good your messages ALWAYS make me feel? You two have impact on me in the most wonderful ways and I thank you for that ... your timing always seems to be pretty perfect-timing as well, lifting me up.

The roses ... beautiful ... awesome image!!! and message!!!

I was just doin' some stinkin' thinkin' and ya cured me and made me smile and laugh. Thanks ... I needed that before I picked up the phone to call and blast someone. I'll be cool now.

Sending happy thoughts and wishes your way ...

Karmen
