Water truck dataplate?
Hi!
During some work on my C15A X-water truck I today found this dataplate stuck between some parts. I have done som google searches and W.D Beath & Son, Toronto Canada seem to be a company within water tanks and cans. On the rear side of the plate it has stamped: BEATH ?1 *2C5 *3839?? Have anyone seen this type before? What is it for? Heres a link I found on the WWW showing some papers for a tank level meter. http://www.ic.gc.ca/pics/lm/volume/sdwa/0011.pdf svenn Last edited by Svenn Ryen; 27-02-13 at 18:14. |

W.D. Beath was a member company of the Steel Body Manufacturer’s Association (SBMA) which manufactured the bodies for CMPs during the war.
The 2C5 could be a body code but would not fit with a water tank. The 2C5 was a GS 15cwt with Bren Gun mount for anti-aircraft defence. Clive

The GS with Bren Gun! Any pics of this type? Does it have the gas tank protection plates like the water truck, or just an ordinary cargo bed?
I have found info on the internet that this firm, W.D. Beath & Son also were into water storage solutions. And my truck has add-ons that indicates a x-water truck, such as tank proctection/step plates, mud guards brackets, PTO and lever with dataplate with info about a pump. Svenn |
