Canadian Chrysler Corp. Documents 1942-44
These documents might be of interest for those researching wartime-era Chrysler Corp. cars. Some trucks are listed too, though there are other, more detailed truck sheets. These are factory sales/shipments documents. 1942 is broken down in various ways, including by model-year and calendar-year. The calendar-year sheets have domestic, export, and war-unit breakdowns. The 1943 sheets show calendar-year domestic sales (hardly any cars) and export sales (some passenger cars). The 1944 sheets show calendar-year domestic sales (no passenger cars) and export sales (some passenger cars). There are 1945 sheets but no cars are shown at all.
Undoubtedly some of the export cars found their way into military service overseas. I know of 24 new Chryslers being obtained by the Australian Army in 1944. Also, there must have been many more new cars taken from dealer storage lots and impressed into service. 1942: 1943: 1944: |

Here's a surviving Dodge military truck, built for domestic service - note the left hand drive.
