It does look odd. Rear body was gal steel not aluminium and has lockers ,
Doors looked home made possibly the rear may be as well ?
Plate on front of chassis starts with a MB so thought it would be jeep
Probably a bitsa but I have no clue when it comes to jeeps and the like

Strange one alright. Dash looks like a jeep but the arse end looks like a dodge weapons carrier of sorts. Got me.

Default Commonwealth registration 157961

It is (was) a Willys MB. The chassis number MB310750 equates to an MB used by the Australian Army, registration number 157961. The original engine number was MB372500.

It was taken on charge in Queensland, and was sold shortly after the end of the war to Dominion Motors.

Under all that c**p there are probably some quite usable jeep parts.

Hi Andrew

The chassis number MB310750 is definately a Willys produced MB Willys Jeep. My records show that the original vehicle was produced in 1944, between ranges; MB293233 and MB402334 of which 109,102 vehicles were produced. The vehicle in the photographs are definately a mish mash of different parts, but the vehicle definately started life as a MB Willys Jeep.

Cheers

Tony
