Default 25 pounder gun kit laid out

We have an original photo in the museum of a 25 pounder kit laid out for inspection. It shows a few variations to the issued tools, as well as a few mysteries. The item in the top left of the photo is one of them. I thought it was a lantern at first, but now that I've enlarged the photo I'm not so sure. I have several WW2 lanterns, but nothing like that. Any ideas? Is it a British pattern? I am attaching a photo of a lantern from the net described as British army...I am safe to assume there were several patterns? I have also seen photos of German lanterns that look a lot like the one on the layout.
