Default Battle of Loos

today in brilliant sunshine I ventured over the border into Berwickshire,Scotland to a small service at Edrom Kirk near Duns to honour the memory of the former lord of the manor Capt.Sir George Reginald Houston-Boswall Bart., 2 nd Coy.4th Batt.Grenadier Guards who was killed in action this day and has no known grave and also to honour the memory of Piper Daniel Laidlaw VC 7th Batt.\KOSB who won his medal at this Battle. A Pipe Major played a moving lament and finished off with KOSB Regimental tune "Blue Bonnets over the Border" it was moving to hear the pipes over the beautiful Berwickshire countryside Lest We Forget
