And now for something a bit different
I was at Temora the past weekend filming interviews for the Museum's Unsung Heroes project, this time a WAAAF, a Group Captain and even a Rear Admiral.
Friday late afternoon we heard that Doug Hamilton was 15 minutes out from Temora in his gorgeous 1937 Lockheed 12A airliner (which did see military service in WW2). Would we like to partake of a quick sunset flight? I think you can guess the answer. Here's a link to the short video I made: https://vimeo.com/106719481

Real world
I managed a photo from the other side of the fence.
One of most beautiful aircraft I have ever seen.. Very enjoyable to watch the Lockheed pair up with the Boomerang on the Saturday. Good to catch up with you Keith, sorry we didnt get to finish our conversation.

Saturday
Yep, it was a great day and wonderful to see both of my Ganmanian mates too!
Doug's timing as Matt launched was faultless. I think this is the first time they have flown a Lockheed 12 and Boomerang together. Did you see Matt do his missed approach in the Boomerang? Matt explained it floated a bit, then hit a couple of bumps in the runway and once it did the second bounce a go-around was the only choice. Quote:
