Default World war one steam

Hi All

I thought there must be some steam buffs in MLU land who would appreciate this clip. Mostly steam powered & reciprocating engines but on solid rubber tyres. Pretty amazing that these old machines still run!! These restorers have put a lot of time, effort and money into these relics, including period uniforms!!

I hope you enjoy it all.

Cheers

Tony

Hi Tony,

A great bit of footage. "Gigantic" the lead traction engine was just finished the day before the off. I have been watching the restoration for some time and they only got the steam valve timing right the day before.

Great Dorset is the biggest and the best steam rally in the world.

Jill and I went there as guests of one of the founding members in 2009, (Dick Shepard who is an Military Vehicle enthusiast too). The public are only in for 4 days but we were there from day one of set-up and 8 days in total.

This year would have been good as the theme was WWI.

Regards Rick.
