Default military rokon motorcycles

hi all

does anyone have any information about the canadian military testing the 2x2 rokon motorcycle in the late 60's/ eary 70's? there is a picture and a reference made to it in the book the winged wheel patch, but i have not been able to find any further information. i have one of these beasts, and the tale of the military version, and why we didn't adopt it would be interesting to know. attached is a pic of the 07 version i have.

My neighbour had one something like this. It had bungs in the wheels so you could fill them with water to use as canteens when heading out into the desert. I thought that was a novel idea.
