Default Warriors Day Parade - London, Ontario 10Sep11

Gents,

The annual Warriors Day Parade to open the Western Fair in London is nearly upon us. The annual event is Saturday 10Sep11 in London, Ontario. Marshall at 10:30, parade at noon.

There is a need for a few more military vehicles, especially those that might give a veteran a ride in the parade.

If you can spare a few hours with your truck, large or small, they have gas money to help out - plus you get into the Fair.

Let me know if you can attend this worthwhile event.

Stewart

PS - always good weather, lots of trailer parking, plenty of fun, etc...

Default Near the Western fair Grounds

Marshall (and others),

The fun starts to form up in the late morning near the little park at the corner of Dorinda Street and Dorinda Avenue - both a block or three northeast of the Fair grounds. There is lots of parking at the big factories in the area - but the bestest ones are taken by early birds!

By 10:30 there will be marching bands, WW1 troops, all manner of military vehicles and all manner of stuff - all being marshaled into a well choreographed spectacular parade. Expect many flags, drums, and that sort of thing - all in seasonably cool weather - perfect for parading in an old truck.

The guy with gas money will seek you out to thank you for coming out.

It all gets underway just before noon - but could leave as early as 11:30 (they don't tell me everything).

It's unfortunate that this event and the Guidon presentation to 1CACR in St Thomas are scheduled for the same weekend.

Default Too many parades, not enough time!

Jon,

You are correct. All of the good stuff is on the same day!

We are in need of a jeep or three to parade the veterans who attend that day. It is not a long parade, but some of the gents would like a ride - and what better way to show off your jeep?

Stewart

PS - are you coming down for any of the fun Jon? I did not get a ticket for the Mess dinner, so it will be cold beer and hamburgs at my place - if you can make it.
