Default UNRRA vehicles and survivors

The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA), organization was founded during World War II to give aid to areas liberated from the Axis powers. A sum of nearly $4 billion was expended on various types of emergency aid, including distribution of food and medicine and restoration of public services and of agriculture and industry. China, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Italy, Poland, the Ukrainian SSR, and Yugoslavia were the chief beneficiaries.

As documented in various issues of Wheels & Tracks magazine, part of the aid was the distribution of ex-military vehicles for civilian use, many of which were CMP trucks.

One of these has just come to light in Austria. Remarkably, this F15A still carries "UNRRA AUSTRIA" on its side.

Not survivors, but a nice period picture of typical UNRRA vehicle supplies (source: Life Magazine @ Google)

I met the owner of this Dutch F15A in Normandy:

He told me he got it 11 years ago from Austria and then extensively restored it. I bet it is an ex-UNRRA vehicle, too.
