I don't know if Jon's tent has sold, but a similar quantity of tentage is currently listed on Kijiji for $1300 out of Chalk River.

Grant: Thanks for that posting.
Makes my asking price of $800.00 look good. Wonder why nobody has responded?

I would buy it in a second if shipping wasn't so much.

Tent pricing
As of this AM the Kijiji listing was still live. Perhaps he's asking a realistic price on the tentage, perhaps he's deaming in full, glorious technicolour. Perhaps someone who wants a tent for a (non MV) event would pay more than someone who wants it as part of an MV display? Perhaps Jon needs to advertise more widely to overcome the generally reputed stinginess of MV collectors. Note that I really am speaking generally here, I am specifically not referring to SteamyNachos, who can not be cheap - he has a M813A1. (The disclaimer is included because I have in past offended the sensibilities of others without intending to do so.)
I have found that bus parcel express is often the cheapest way of shipping larger items like WS19 masts. Perhaps they would also beat UPS etc. on tentage. Probably still not cheap based on weight and bulk but possibly less expensive. |

I concur with you Grant in many ways...
What fellow collectors need to do here is get together more and co-operate on these types of things, it would be helpful and save money for all. We have guys here on the board that travel here, there and everywhere but it always seems too little, too late. With some creative networking or perhaps a Transportation tab on this forum, collectors could advertise their travels or wish list for transport. Many times guys have a container coming or going but its always a state secret, same goes for long distance trucking, holiday travel etc. I, for one, am more than willing to offer up some space in my pickup whenever I am travelling, it is always great to meet up with others who perhaps I would never meet. And who know, I may even find goodies that I would never have found otherwise...
