Default Mk1 Canadian headlights

Hi all, been looking at wiring up my headlights today, has anyone got a clear picture or can describe the way the tinned copper braided cable go's into the headlight, I know there are two of these twin core wires which go to the drivers side headlight, I think only one twin core wire go's to the left one but could be wrong, the holes in the back of the lights are smaller than 3/4" I am guessing there is a waterproof glanding arrangement, it's this arrangement I need details of please.

HI Kevin

I don't think there is any kind of rubber grommet. I think the wires just get shoved into the hole. Thats what I did on mine. On the few original/untouched ones Ive never seen any remains of a grommet.
