LP2 Hole ?
Just supplied a photo of my phantom MG gunner's foot rest mounts (to my post in March).
Had no replies to the mysterious engine cover bracket. Now for the intriguing hole ! As per the photos my carrier has a 5/8" hole drilled through the front plate, maybe again only the Victorian carriers have them ! what for. I could fall back on "a farmer in the 1960's drilled it" ~ maybe. Or. |

I doubt that...
...a person hand drilled that hole. It looks far too clean to be hand held at that size. There is a plug that fits in the armour on the left side of a MKII canadian carrier that fills a hole where the smoke discharger or 2"mortar mounts, can't remember, perhaps this is a similar thing.

Sean, on your first sentence---My thoughts exactly! It looks like it's supposed to be there.
