Mike - I remember there was supposedly a wing in Sutherland Shire Hospital called the 'Victa Ward'. For lawn mowers in thongs (flip-flops, not G-strings) who finish up a few digits short.

Default Another one

No names . But a fellow MV enthusiast here in australia had some trouble starting a Chev 216 in a Blitz . The inlet manifold became flooded with petrol after repeated attempts to start the thing. The bonnet and engine covers were lifted and spark plugs removed . OOPS....... the ig switch was still in the ON position .

As the fellow lent over the motor , something sparked and there was a big BOOM ..... the poor fellow spent a week in the burns ward of a hospital.

true story ....

Default Spark and fuel

I saw an amusing incident at the Bendigo swap meet a couple of years ago. I happened to be walking past a site where the seller had all sorts of gear spread out on the ground including a small single cylinder engine like a Briggs and Stratton. There was a fellow sitting on his heels looking at the engine and as I watched he grasped the crankshaft pulley and slowly rotated it. The peaceful scene was abruptly changed with a loud BOOF and an eruption of smoke so unexpected that everyone was momentarily stunned.
I don't know if he bought the engine. He should have done because it obviously wanted to go.
Spark and fuel, be very wary.

Hi all - A good but anonymous mate of mine volunteered his Jeep for a magazine photo-shoot and as a result received a goodies package including a large photograph of the event. Quite excited he showed all to his wife. A short time later he was reviewing the items but could not find the photograph. Then he remembered that he had thrown the “empty” envelope into the wood heater. Well then came the hand wringing, the wailing and gnashing of teeth, crying whilst mowing the lawn and telling his wife that she would have to leave home as he was so depressed. Of course the dutiful and sensible wife simply rang the magazine, explained the situation and they sent out another photograph.
