Default hot weather

with this hot weather there have been fire bans put on in a lot of areas. Today we have had our first fire in the local area for this summer. No live stock lost only a few fences and grass. The weather for the next few days will be worse, 35 degrees and hot winds expected. But Christmas day is supposed to be only 26 degrees. Chris is back but we haven't taken him to a fire as yet, he did some hay carting today so ask him about his blisters and hayfever.

Geoff we have been down to pickup our turkey it only took 6 hours to drive down and six hours back and all is well, our friends grow these turkeys and we know they are hormone and antibiotic free. All that happens now is that it has to be cooked.

Default Fires

And a total fire ban for most of Victoria tomorrow too...

Predicted top of 36, very low humidity, strong, hot winds, lots of dry fuel... a bad mix.

A stormy change late in the day which probably means lightning strikes.

Hope all is OK up your way, Max.

Well, let it run Free Range in the right paddock at the right time, and Bob's your uncle

See Max, if you started raising turkeys along with your sheep and cows, you'd make a fortune selling them locally! Plus, think of the fun you could have chasing them with your carrier...

Max,

It sounds like turkeys are an endangered species in Aus if you have to go that far to find them.

All you want now is to find it won't fit in the oven and BBQ's are banned because of the fire risk

Have a good Christmas, regards to you all in Yass. Also pass on my regards to Chris, whom I met at Beltring in 2004, he gave me some photos from Normandy.

Richard

Everything in Australia is that far away from everywhere else, at least. A very peculiar place, that...
