Default Big Bad BoB BBQ may be on again....

Have been agonizing with setting a date, time and place that will fit everyone and fit other interesting events.....

TRIAL BALLOON AT THIS POINT.......

BB #? WILL NOW MIGRATE TO FILL THE VOID OF THE FORMER CC
JUNE 26TH 27TH 2010.

The reasoning behind the change is.......

We missed having one last Summer.

September is Coe Hill....

August 15th is now Windsor and I intend to be there.

July 17th 18th is the new Blue Balls Express with the Quebec guys and will want to participate.

Well that leaves the old CC dates...... which are right at the longest days of the year.... bugs are just leaving..... Summer heat arriving... beer time

So before renting/booking equipment it would be nice to get a feel for who would be interested.......

Same as previous years..... slow arrival on Friday evening June 25th... big bash on Saturday June 26th...... late supper, bonfire, etc.. oh yes beers...
wrap up on Sunday morning.

Primitive camping, Menu, details, etc. to follow depending on numbers.....

Who is in...?

BooBee

Default BBQ June 26....

I was going to respond in the positive...... then I thought about the date and why it meant something to me....... well it would seem that my youngest daughter has chosen this date to marry. I expect all kinds of relatives, inlaws and outlaws to be present.
Primitive camping might sound good come saturday nite.

Yes Bob, we will be there, at least 3 people, 3 trucks and the Kitchen. Should we give everyone a hint as to what we want to do??? We will be bringing the wrecker, the Ambulance and the M109A3(truck not SP Howitzer) and the kitchen. Gilles

Default Cat's out of the bag.....

Before sending out the trial balloon on the June date for the BBBB 4 I had some conversation with Gilles on the use of his mobile army as well as his cooking expertise.

We need to establish number of attendees first but eventually we will decided on and post the menu for the weekend.

As you know "Chez Marie" .... our breakfast hangout was hit by Lightning.... the man made kind..... is still in ruin.. not to be rebuilt and culprit still at large.... can't figure it out.... food could not have been that bad....

Anyways Gilles is offering to run Breakfast, lunch and supper for the crowd.... we will have a menu and cost once we know the size of things.... all you will need are beers and aspirins...and if you drink enough you will not evn need a tent...... we will have the usual tents and porta potty and fresh water.......

So stay tuned for developments.....

Boob,

Will the snow be gone by then?

If you think so, you better put me on the list.

Default Nice to hear from you guys.....

Stuart

Will be glad to set you up...... the more Iltisssesss the better.

Stew....... we hardly have any snow now..... probably more than you but you are getting a dump tonite aren't you..... we currently have about 6 to 8 inches of hard frozen snow...... I am sure will get more by the end of March but I only used the snow blower 3 times this year so far....

FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES THE BBBBBBQ 4 IS ON FOR THIS YEAR........if it is small it will be intimate.... if more shows up it'll be wild.....

Default Rise and shine......BBQ in sight....June 24-25-26

Time to stir up the BBQ flames......

Sitting here doing an imitation of Mike from Windsor.... with a glass of red wine....

As in previous years it is BBQ time...... berr abd burgers for the early arrivals on Friday evening..... the big bash is on Saturday...... big steak supper Saturday...... Breakfast and aspirin before the send off on Sunday morning.

Now for the details

Gilles..... the guy with the big trcuks from Cantley.... will be bringing is official army mobile kitchen and cook for us.

Since we have lost Chez Marie to Jewish lighting a few year back we will burger or other grilled food for the small number of early arrivals on Friday evening...... breakfast of bacon.... little boys.... and chicken embryo awashed with coffee... and tea for Alex and me...

A quick lunch on Saturday and the usual big steak and salad bakers for supper.... we can provide chicken breast burgers if we know who wants them instead of red meat....hu-hu hu red meat !!!! and Breakie again on Sunday morning.

Remember camping is primitive..... plenty of clean water from my well and a porta-potty for your usual comfort. Bonfire and crackers on Saturday evening with only one rule if you can't stand you can't drive and no stepping on MLU members passed out in the grass.

Bring your own booze.....drink your own booze....

The significant changes for this year will be the availability of good food on site ..... and I have given total control to Gilles who will establish the extent of the menu and a realistic price for his services and will also collect all moneys.... not aiming tomake a profit but not to loose $$$$

This should significantly free me up to drink and chat and drink and chat.....

We can set up a special area for the radio officiandos...... just need to know your needs....

Nothing pretentious.... just aim to have some nice OD fun...!!!

Hoping to see more Iltiseseses fans to come and join us and some new comers from the Montreal group..... may be some from the Far East....'cle Bill
.... do I hear echos from New Hampshire....?

NOW FOR WHAT I NEED....

Confirmation of who is coming .... when you will arrive....and what meals yo intedn to partake from Gilles' facilities. A good estimate will keep cost over run down to a minimum.

So even if you have indicated above your intention ...please confirm for ease of planning.

The Rotters have been busy raiding again so we have some nice things to show you...... oin fact so busy raiding we have not time to psot our recent pictures on the Barn site.....

Looking forward to see all of you...

Last minute drop ins are alwasy welcome we scounge food for you needed.

Please extend or remind your contacts as all are welcomed....

BooB
....and Rob and Grant.....

I will be there, with either an Iltis or an M38A1 - maybe a motorcycle too. Young Law will be learning his trade and won't be available.

Default Confirmation-

I will arrive with Stewart and Skag, same meal plan.

IF all perfect parts of the universe will align, (ie the bike can be made to move and stop, and Stewart deems the venture worthwhile) Then I'll bring the WM20 BSA.

Hi Bob;

If my plans do not change (or are changed for me), I will require rations for two on Saturday. I will drop by Friday evening and will come out again on Saturday from accommodations in Sarsfield. Sorry Clive, can only come up for the weekend, I have my brother and his family coming in from Alberta the following week for our sister’s wedding the following Saturday.

Cheers

Bob..
I'll be there Friday night..Saturday..and may pass Sunday..On my way south Sunday..

Do you ever drag the magnets around the Barn and Field area that are vehicle traveled..??
I was thinking of all the rusty shrapnel around that are tire magnets..
If you threw out a hand full of nickels you would have all the kids doing the job all weekend..great chance to get the place cleaned up..
three or four magnets taped to a hockey stick and a couple of ropes on it and the kids would pull them around all day..if they found the odd nickle..

But I'll rassle us down a couple..
I should be out there at Boobee's Friday after noon so will hog tie a couple of chairs close to the fire and up wind of the smoke..
As long as Boobee's electric lettuce patch dosen't go up in flames ,it should be a great weekend..

Default Magnets....

Alex....

Dragging of magnets is left for Rob who loves to collect old bolts to clean and use again.....

It is absolutely amazing how much steel, nuts, bolts washers, etc is picked up by draggin' a large magnet bar........ you can fill a bucket quite easily.....

Thanks for all the early replies......

.......... keep them coming......

Default Bob is testing us all

All of my calendars show 24-25-26 as Thurs-Fri-Sat, either I'm looking at the wrong year, Bob is playing with us or there will be hungry souls in the field Thursday night....
I'm the duty guy that weekend so can't come close to committing to whether I'll be there between flights.

I am told by my son who lives in NZ that if they outlawed Barbies, NZ would dry up and there would be very little social life. Gilles
