Well, the world's best Bren factory has been demolished - click here and here

P.S.: last summer I came across a really old Inglis washing machine still in use in France!

Hanno:

Truly evocative pictures. The buildings were a part of Toronto's skyline, highly visible from the windows of the local commuter trains.

Note one of the pictures which you posted, with the girl holding a Browning Hi-Power (no ear protection!). The wooden stock depicted therein commands a higher price than an original "T" Hi-Power!

Jon
That 9MM with shoulder stock/holster was probably part of the "Chinese Contract" ones made for Chang Chi Check(?) in '44-'45 when he was at war with Mao TSE tung(?) ..
I had a nice one that I donated to a military museum..
Clive could jump in and tell us the story on them...He is the expert on them..

I found this photo originally at the Nat'l Archives. It was taken at Small Arms Limited (not at Inglis) where the wood stocks were made . SAL is better known by its location, Longbranch, than by its real name. Ear protection would have been redundant. The pistol has no barrel, trigger or any other guts. It is engraved at the front of the slide "WOODSHOP INSPECTION".
