Armour bolts weight
As a weight guideline, twenty-five of the 3/8" are 0.750kg, while twenty-five of the 5/16" are 0.505kg..
With packing a box of two hundred, 50/50 split tips the scale at 5.30kg. |

Me Too!!!
I would like 50 of each. I will PM you with address to calc shipping costs.
Can you make up the flat head screws for a carrier's front plate? I have found straight slot flatheads, but the bevel is wrong so they stick up past the level of the plate when tightened. Cheers, Jim |

Jim, Have a look at metric flat head counter sunk. The heads are about the same as the b.s. ones. (8.0mm) Unified (American) ones are what you will have tried.
I support Ben's sentiments in thanking Michael R. for his efforts in producing these important fasteners. Next thing, all of us riveted carrier guys (and girls) will be scrambling to find BSF nuts. :-)

Well done Michael R !!
Lynn BSF nuts can be made from hex stock and a correct tap if all else fails The hard bits are what we see here.

Lots of BSF nuts on ebay as well. They run around $6-$10 for 60, so approx 15 cents each. Hard to justify making them even for twice that price.

Got a bundle of the bolts from Michael today and they are sitting on my desk as we speak. Absolutely gorgeous. I grabbed a couple of new BSF nuts from the back room and the threads are also perfect. They will suffer a touch from the shipping and banging against each other in transit, so expect some slight burring, but once the nut runs on once, all is good.
The longer 5/16 ones will be nice, especially for the control panel. With the thick rubber gasket that goes between the hull and the control panel, it seems I could never find these bolts long enough to do the job. Thanks Michael for having these made up. It is a real service to carrier owners and restorers. Last edited by rob love; 02-12-15 at 19:00. |

I have not published private messages (after all . . . ).
Thank you for the positive feedback from Western Canada. Still sorting economical shipping for EU requests. Although Canada Post offers surface (sea) rates, the time is measured in months, without tracking capability. |

Canadian Post
Yes, I concur about the Canadian Post slowness and tracking ability is fairly 3rd world. They recon they have only just started this tracking process, they log it in and then you wait 4 months and to your surprise something turns up !
I think they are years behind other countries for deliveries. Go look at the feed back that people have left ,just my experience, cheers.

The Canada Post sea rate is economical, with restrictions. Their air shipping is exceptional, four day guarantee, but surprisingly you pay additional for insurance and tracking. While it is exceptional, by comparison to USPS you are paying greater than double the rate for similar service.
