Major Motion Picture Project - John McCrae and In Flanders Fields

Just had a meeting last week with the webmaster of http://www.inflandersfields.ca

Not only has this amazing woman set In Flanders Field to music in a unique arrangement (which she apparently composed), to which the CDS, General Rick Hillier, has made warm comments, and not only has she immersed herself in the story of John McCrae's life to the point she showed up at our meeting with aerial photos of the hospital he was stationed at when he wrote the poem, and not only has she written a screenplay to outline not just the story behind the poem, but of McCrae's entire war history....but she has, at last report, gotten Dale Dye to read her treatment.

Susan Raby-Dunne is looking to network right now; anyone who might be able to assist with the project - especially financially - is encouraged to visit the website, contact her directly, and generate some buzz. I think it is a worthy project, and having sat down with her for an hour and a half, can attest to the fact she knows the history and has made some amazing contact already - including a trip to Vancouver to pitch the movie to Ron Howard and IMAGINE.

May be a tough sell, but of course, doing nothing ensures this project - which should and could have been made any time in the last 80 years or so - will never happen.

Just warn her about letting the CBC get their hands on it. Remember the hatchet job they did on Billy Bishop?!!?
