Scrapped!
This was one of three CMPs sold recently at a clearing sale to the highest bidder - the scrap man. These pictures were taken by Euan's father in law Ian. The scrappy was happy for Ian and others to remove some parts but without tools he was only able to get the slip off doors from one of the trucks. The moral of the story is to take enough tools to do a quick job if you are able... More sad pics of the rest of the trucks here: http://www.oldcmp.net/scrapped.html I wonder how often this scenario has been repeated around the world, and what treasures have gone forever? Cliff Hutchings informs me the trucks at Kingaroy in Queensland ( http://www.oldcmp.net/kinga15cwt.html ) have been selling slowly but there will come a time when the rest are simply scrapped too. Cliff is trying to persuade the owner to hold an unreserved auction for collectors so at least as much as possible can be saved.
