Default Vehicle marking plate

The attached picture is of a plate with unknown markings that did not come with the jeep. It also have a number 22 on and I am curious as to what it represents.

I sould have described the crossed figures as what appears as old muzzle loading cannon.

Default Tri-service marking

Gord, did a bit of research for you. The crest is the post RCEME badge adopted on 1 Feb 1968. It was applied to the tri-service land maintainers of CF equipment.The rotor symbol is SAE, the crossed cannons represent armament trades, the lightning bolt, communication branches. It was used until the 1980's when RCEME re-adopted their old badging.
This said, your markings are those of an engineering unit, specifically not sure. Any eme types out there?

Gordon;

The crest itself, is that of the LAND ORDNANCE ENGINEERING BRANCH or LORE, which RCEME became post-unification of the Forces. The background colours look to be those of the LORE Branch (ex-RCEME). The 22 could represent a Workshop? Number.
The TRG O - stands for Training Officer. On another thread you asked about the rear bumper markings - the red rectangle w/Maple Leaf is that of the 1st Cdn Div (NATO).

Just a note, there was a 22 Tech Sqn, RCEME in Three Rivers, P.Q. - mid 50's to mid 60's, but it was a Reserve Army unit.

Cheers

the crest in question:

Default 22 Service Battalion?

It could be 22 Service Battalion, located in London.

Here is a weblink, you may be able to get some contacts at the unit if you surf around a bit:

Thanks for all the replies to the post.With all the changes in the 60's and down sizing it is a difficult trail to follow.The plate came to me from a freind from a yard sale.Gardner Auctions sold the jeep to a purchaser in London in april 1979 so maybe it was a London sevice corps vehicle.

Can confirm markings of No. 22 Service Batallion, Training Officer, millitia unit. Regular formations usually don't have a dedicated training officer as training is done at depot. Single lightning bolt did not represent communicators but electrical workers. Re adoption of the Startled Stallion came at the end of the 80s or very early 90s.
