Default A Bridge too Far

I received the DVD of the movie from my girls for Father's Day.One thing that is bugging me is the color of the C-47's from loading to take-off to the drop zone. They're all a sand color!!I thought it war the print color, but when you see the towed gliders, they're a dark green!!Has anyone noticed this & is there an explanation for this?Comparing the C-47's from Band of Brothers, and haveing personally viewed a C-47 live over Lake Champlain in upper New York state complete with invasion stripes, these latter planes were a dark olive green.:

Is it in a bridge too far, thatthey only had one plane, and the others were copies of the first one (identical marking's etc). I know it still doesn't explain the sand colour, but it might explain why there all the same. It was probably quiet sophisticated special effects for the time-that's assuming I'm thinking of the right film..:

Default Individual numbers

The C-47's in A Bridge Too Far are real, that is,those taking off. They do have individual numbers as in J6,J7,or J8.The one you're thinking about is the same numeraled C-47 in Pearl Number. It is seen in the beginning of the movie and about three more times during, including the scene at the end when they come back with his buddie's body, after the raid.
