Default Brake lines and tires on a F60s

Hi all. First my thanks to my many questions over the last few weeks. Many people have replied to me on and off the board and have been of great assistence.

I am currently looking for 2 things regarding a Ford F60s. I am currently making a model of this vehicle in 1/35 and am just about done extending the chassis but need a bit more info. on the smaller details. First I need to locate the brake lines and wiring and how they run along the chassis to the brakes and rear of the truck.
Secondly the vehicle apparently was fitted with 10.50X16 tires which are not available in 1/35 and I have no intention of scratchbuilding (lazy I know) can I get away with the kit tires at 9.00X16 or should I move up to 10.50X20 which I can scavenge from the italeri Bedford.

Thanks for the help
Sean

Default Tires for F 60

Hi Sean

The wheels from a Tamiya FAT could be an answer to your problem.

If You are using a Gun tractor for italeri the wheels should be ok!

By the way. How are you going to make the sparewheel carrier??

I am building danish CMP's and would also like to do a F 60L.

but i do not how the sparewheel carrier works and what it looks like.

I have a couple of pictures from a danish army handbook, I mail them to you i you like

Brian

Default F60S Bofors Self propelled no spare

I am actually building a self propelled Bofors so my need for a tire carrier is not a concern. There does not seem to be any provision for one on the truck. Looking over photos and diagrams I can not locate one. I am adding a 20CWT cargo trailer to the model so I plan to add one in it. I have several photos with the trailer being towed by the truck.
Thanks to brian for the wheel info. i'll have to check out my Quad kit.

Another qeuestion from me is does anyone have a good close up of the stabalizing jacks on the truck. I can see they are scissor style but are there any major differences to the common jack.

Sean

Hi again Sean

Try to look at Missing lynx.com under gallery. british
Steve Zaloga has made a Morris it seems to me that the jacks are of the same type.

I know for sure that i have seen pictures of a Morris displayed at the Royal artillery Museum in London

I'll try to find out where it was and return to you. The danish army also udsed F60B's so if you have any interesting model information you like to share, you will know at least one happy man.

PS just remembered a foto i a book

Default C9/B

Here is a picture of the Morris Commercial C9/B which is now in the Royal Artillery's Firepower museum. Taken about 8 years ago after we refurbished it at REME workshops before returning to the old Rotunda museum. The cab cover is not an original fitting but was to protect the cab as the old girl stood outside at the time. It is finished in post war deep bronze green and carries its correct WD number.

Hope you can see the details of the stabilising jacks.

Richard

Hi Sean,
I always thought the smaller tyres looked out of place, so I wouldn't worry too much.
The rims off the tamiya LRDG are 9.00 x 16 but of course they had 9.00 sand tread tyres. I found on an early model that these tyres split and that gave me the idea that if you took a 10.50 x 20 tyre and cut it you may be able to get aware with it. All the best.
Anton
