Default Coolant Recover Tank Not Working

Hi All

Something to check if the coolant recovery tank stops working or your CMP starts leaking coolant.

Years back the same thing happened mud wasp plug the vent on the coolant tank recovery tank, last time it pressurized the system to the point that it blew off a coolant hose. This time the coolant in the tank was not being drawn back into the radiator.

Checked the other trucks and one of them as plugged as well, busy little critters.

Cheers Phil

Default Wasps

At the risk of hijacking this into a wasp thread, here's what I found last weekend in the bowls of my carrier while greasing it up. I'm not sure exactly when my visitors took up residence but I'm sure glad we didn't meet while I was driving.

Default Is this part of the reason for blousing boots?

Hi Bruce

Good thing you found the nest before one of them decided to take exception to your leg. Wonder if this is part of the reason for blousing pant legs in to the boots?

Don't worry about high jacking the thread, good discussion of how little critters can cause us problems is a good idea. Some body mentioning mud wasps caused problems is what made me think to check the coolant recovery tank vent when the coolant was not being drawn back.

Cheers Phil
