Default repair in the field

What do you do when your halftrack blows a bogey and you're hundreds of miles from home and the local parts jobber stopped carrying bogeys 60 years ago. George Clark found a solution when his halftrack needed repairs on the Western Command Freedom Route trip this past summer.

A local welding shop fabricated and mounted steel bars to the remains of the bogey. This worked so well the vehicle completed the 800 km trip without further problems or damage. The shop was so impressed with our trip he donated the parts and labour.

Default "The ferrari Engagement"

I think it had something to do with the speeds involved.
I looked over the inside of the track and saw no noticeable wear because of the field repair.
