Default BSA WM20 Motorcycle

Can any of our group please provide me with a few photos of the clip that holds the fieldstand in place on the frame?

I'm using a bit of string now, but want to try make a clip. Some drawings show the clip on the frame, some on the luggage / carrier rack support. There are only a few options if the hole in the clip is used - I cant imagine drilling a hole in the frame..

thanks

Default Side stand clip pictures and dimensions

Hi Charlie,

As it happens I just picked up an N.O.S. one of these last Saturday, here some pictures and a sketch with dimensions (they are very odd, neither metric or inch!)

There are at least 2 types of the stand (long and short) and corresponding clip locations, so depending on what contract your bike is, you can figure out what was fitted, better go to the WD Bike website and forum to look for more info;

http://www.wdbsa.nl/

But I'm sure a repro can be gotten in India, have seen them around, sorry mine is not for sale, unless purchased with the whole stand.

Well just found out that the whole thing and more is on the website already!;

Cheers,

Lex

Hi Charlie,

Like Alex says, it all depends on what year your bike is. On the early bikes that had the short field stand with full circle the clip should fasten on to the grab/lifting stay with a nut. There is a stud brazed to the stay. I am not too sure but I think that when used with the long stand, when the panniers where used, the clip is fastened to the stud that the pannier frames attach to, but could be wrong.
Hope this helped.
Dave
