For sale one set of three (3) Bren Carrier vision shutter assemblies. Original assemblies were used to copy and images showing original vs fabricated component can be seen below. I was amazed at the…. let’s say variation, or large tolerance of dimensions I found between the three sets of original components I used to make the copies from in each instance an average dimension was used for a nominal dimension. A faithful copy was constructed with several changes made for ease of manufacture or component availability. Flat plates were laser cut and do not exhibit any flattening marks like some original parts. Original visors or at least the ones I copied, incorporated a duel pane glass with a laminate in between. Please note that the visors I fabricated are slightly thinner and utilize a single thinner piece of glass. This is a deviation from original. Please do not purchase if original or perfect replicas are your preference. Another deviation are in the included mounting hardware. The crescent shape flat plate should be affixed by a domed head British thread bolt and nut. Include in my sale is a standard thread flat head bolt and nut. The plunger assembly is also secured to its flat Plate (CTL7336) with brass flathead fasteners in a standard thread pitch. The remaining four fasteners are included are in British thread but they are long flatheads needing to be trimmed and cross drilled for the retaining pin. Original CRL3496 nuts where modified into CTL3502 & CTL7339 where appropriate. Hundreds of hours were spent in fabrication of the components in each assembly.
