Default Nice machine....

Last one I have seen was at a marina auction in Merrickville a few years back.... looks like a Dodge Power Wagon on steroid...... very similar to the M37 series..... somewhat more popular in the USA.

Wonder what the writing on the door says...... being somewhat quasi military it may have served as a RCAF airport firetruck.

...and by the way..... on MLU we prefer to know members real name and location to facilitate trading and referrals..... so where are you from.....?? and what are your areas of interest....... might be nice to do a beer if you are close to the Capital...... we are all friends on MLU...some we have not met yet!!!

Default 1940 International 4X4 Military Fire Truck

My name is Joe and I live in Montreal. I'm interested in 40 to 47 Fords, military but primarily commercial ones. In my browsing I happened across this fire truck, which I thought might be an ex-military truck, and thought I would pass along the lead in case any one was interested. I spoke to the owner who said it is an ex-St. Eustache, Quebec, fire truck. Those are the markings on the door. He also said the engine is not seized and will run. I am not interested in purchasing the truck nor do I have any connection with the owner so if anyone is interested in it they can call the owner directly at the number in the first post.

Default Hi Joe

Any interest in a 1942 Ford F15a CMP....... not running but very complete.

Seperate extra front GM HD axle and spare tranny/bellhousing..?

If you are interested in the CMP you're not very fare from a cold beer and a visit to the Hammond barn.

The truck pictured is an International Harvester based on the M3-L4 WWII IH chassis. It was referred to as an FFN-3 and was used by the US Navy and US Marine Corps as an Airfield Crash Truck. I believe it has a Bean pump and about 1100 were produced.

Even from the picture the truck looks good and is certainly worth the money.

I have to many Fire Trucks or it would be mine.

Default Fords

Thanks for the offer of the truck Bob but I'll have to decline. What I'm looking for is pictured below: a Canadian-built 40 or 41 Ford 112" wheelbase 1/2 ton chassis that had both military and commercial applications. I know a lot of them were exported to commonwealth countries. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe.

Default REsponse to Joe and Bill

Will keep an eye out for you Joe but it sounds like they would be hard to find in Canada if primarily for export......

Bill

If you change your mind we can deliver it for you..... looking for an excuse to visit Phil Waterman......
