Stanley Scislowski, The Perth Regiment
Twenty years ago today, MLU's founder Geoff Winnington-Ball introduced Stanley Scislowski as follows:
"One-time Private Soldier, The Perth Regiment, 5th Canadian Armoured Division. Stan joined the Perths as an infantry replacement in 1943, and served with the Regiment until January 1945. In 1997, he published a book of his memoirs entitled NOT ALL OF US WERE BRAVE. Stan joins MLU as a 'roving columnist', sharing with us his thoughts and insights into the essence of being a Canadian soldier in WW2." Stanley Scislowski passed away at the age of 90 in 2014, and Geoff has since passed away too. The two of them are leaving us with very interesting WW2 reading material on 'Stan's Page' at http://www.mapleleafup.net/histories...ski/index.html
