IIRC, that pic was from Hamburg, Germany circa 1958. And a Bruce said, they ended up as pots & pans and most likely as BMWs and who-the-hell-knows what-the-hell-else.
It makes one weep.

The really sad thing is that some heartless scrap dealers are just as happy to scrap them today as they were back then!. Justin.
