Are any of these CMP?
Are any of these CMP parts?
The number on the spanner is OIA-17017 and ford made in canada. This one has 0010-17033, there are a couple of other marks but i can't make them out, no ford stamp but a similar number to the one above. Are these the spanners found in the tool roll on a carrier, no numbers on the spanners other than the makers name, size, and made in canada. The makers are mollybendium, and dreadnought. And lastly, this head looks the right one for my carrier but i'm not sure it is now. The carby is a stromberg. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Thanks, that makes scense, they have come from a chap who bought CMP trucks after the war, i have had a canadian tool box and bulb box from the same place. There are probably other CMP tools in the many boxes, but if it's not marked FORD Made in Canada i'm a bit of a loss. Will look out for sinilar part numbers on my next visit. Thanks John |

A carrier manifold is not aluminum.

Or if it is a C01Q-17033 then it is for the carrier. While it is normally for a front wheel bearing, but in the case of the carrier it's listed as being used on the oil pan drain plug.

The first wrench shown is for the head nuts on the flatheads. Yours is a bit early for the CMPs and the carrier. The military ones are normally closed on both ends. They would have the same part number, but the number would be followed by either the letter A or B, which indicates a revision to the original part.
Those wrenches are not particularly rare, and can usually be found in antique shops or on ebay for a couple of bucks. Search on ebay for "17017B ford wrench" and currently I get about 40 hits. Of course, you will want one that is made in Canada, so best to search on ebay Canada. |

Thanks Rob, it's just nice to know what these things are really, i'lll now put them in the drawer with the other junk i've collected. The manifold has C11A-6520-C2 cast into the top, does this help idetify it any better? Thanks |
