Carrier 'Rotisserie'
With a little imagination and engineering skills, you too can have something like this. Perfect for those times when you need to sandblast your carrier.
A local carrier owner built this 'contraption' so that rebuilding carriers would be a whole lot easier. Last edited by Stuart Kirkham; 14-01-09 at 05:26. |

Nice stuff, not sure what a tub would weigh, but as Iam yet another over cautious Brit i would consider thicker chains, i would hate to think what sort of inertia that tub would generate if it brke free.
I made a similar item for a mini and it is much easier especially when welding up floor pans ! |

Great Idea for practicing victory rolls after each rally, Just make sure you are wearing a full seat belt harness and a hard hat!!
All you need now is a pilots license and some wings. Any way what a neat idea for getting all the loose sand out stephen |

Not sure Dennis but it does look like garnet from the texture and colour.

Hell of a way to empty the ash tray!
I built a similar manual one for use with my M38 tube during rebuild. Makes painting a breeze. J

Hi Tommy,
Thanks for the pics of your friends rotisserie, I thought that you and some of our carrier members would like to see how the work was done at newport workshops on the Vic rail carriers all those years ago, seems a little primative by todays standards, Regards Ron Notice the wooden floor, nice to do all of that welding on Just another pic of the jig they used

Thanks for posting these old pix Ron. Very interesting.
Am I correct in assuming that the front half of a carrier is built separate to the rear and joined at a later stage in the construction process or could this be a trial/test rig? |
