Default No new threads, or even replies???

This would be the first time I've logged on to MLU in the morning to find absolutely not one yellow icon to show some activity... Has the forum been offline or something???

Ah well time to break the drought!

Hi Keith..
It's understandable that you would be off kilter/

You're upside down,mate...
But I'm right side up and just up the street 400 KM from the Great Poobah and I just was able to log in ...nothing for the past 6 hours and I was having MLU withdrawals til you posted..
Maybe we are away again..

So it wasn't just me. I was wondering what that rush of blood to the head was about.

To reward people for looking at this thread, here's a totally random and slightly bizarre news article.

Keith...
Maybe Ma Yappy tried to plug her coffee pot into the fan circuit of her mother board and finally shorted out MLU....
I'm sure the Great Poohbah will set us straight..
May have been down for maintenance..
It happens..

Default Not strange Sunspots

I could not get it to the site this morning, so must be the sunspots that happened yesterday actually did disrupt communications.

I suspect Phil's right, but the 'herding cats' syndrome has occurred to me as well.....

WELL ... AT LAST!!!!

I FINALLY am able to get online today, for the first time ROGHT NOW at 1:45-ish PM, Mountian time, after getting up this morning to find our servers totally down today ... I think the problem in the East Kootenays and also the Coast is the weather.

But what is MLU-s problem today? Sounds like it was down for some time. That might explain only having 1 ... yes a mere and measley ONE notification about a new post in MLU. I usually have several for new posts and PM's, especially lately (blame that on the Aussies and all the recent OZ communications and posts

The Coast is a mess again with the extreme weather ... and today on the TV (first time I've had the TV on since Geoff spilled the beans to me about the OZ-manian Devils (good ) behind the scenes schemes. (I'll just stop that run-on sentence and start a new one) ...Well,

... the news showed some of that fire activity in Australia and Tasmania ... it all looks and sounds very scarey, and sad that they reported the first death due to the one fire (started by a couple of teenagers?)

Anyways ... have no fear Keefy and all you MLU Addicts ... I'll bet tons of new posts and/or threads have already happened just while I've been typing this

Argh ... I'm back online so reachable again! I hope it doesn't go out again ... we've had lots of snow since last night!

PHEW ...

FYI ... the West Coast was hammered with 157 km winds!

Nelson and area in the West Kootenays had power outage for about 5 or so hours.

We in the East Kootenays? Well ... no MLU until after noon. HARSH!

The third powerful storm this week hammered southwestern B.C. overnight with winds of up to 157 kilometres an hour, leaving about 240,000 families in the dark and disrupting the morning commute.

Hello everybody,

I couldn't get on the forum, was trying for about 1, 5 hours and now it works again.
I hear its bad weather over there; here the flowers in the front yard started blossoming again the last few days due to exceptional mild temperatures this time of year.

Default Geoff has it cats on line.

Think Geoff is right- Herd of cats online Christmas shopping, cats are very slow using the key board but quite fast with the mouse. I could not get on for an hour or so this morning.

Well here in the great white north ( the expanse of tundra here in North Quebec), I too was having troubles with the old pc. Perhaps the dogsled powered server was to blame but I'll go with Phil's sunspots idea...
lots of trouble with my system yesterday

Of course you couldn't get on line in Rockbush. Maybe the Mill Wheel came off the generator in Blue Springs. Did you see the light Show at Frank Grant's place?? I think he's got religon.

Service has been glitchy over here lately in the East Kootenays, BC, too, but BC weather has been wacky, especially at the Coast. (sometimes loading pages are really REALLY draggy slow.

Maybe aliens are messing with the cosmos and communications all over the universe? I just haven't been able to get through to my family on Pluto lately. Too much milk in the milky way, perhaps, if it's not aliens?

We here at MLU specialize in Herding Cats, but not always with success -- it's an artform rather than an acquired skill...

Geez, MLU glitched out again briefly.

Is it only me, or has anyone else noticed lately that MLU often lately gets really slow about this time of night. I've really noticed it the last few nights, although it's periodically glitchy through the day sometimes too. It just seems worse at this time of night lately.

Makes me wonder if it is server trouble or one of the extremely persistant spammers who keep trying to register is messing about

Ain't new fandangled technology something? :dh:
