Default Canada At War Series

Some of you will have seen this... I have all episodes on tape from the National Film Board. Question.... during a brief shot, they show 2nd Div troops parading though Dieppe in 1944. Who's the pipe band and what are they playing?

SUNRAY;

You mean these Pipers & Drummers of the Canadian 2nd Infantry Division:

Cheers

Hate to interrupt your exchange ( ), but they look like TorScots. Someone more familiar, please? And what is it they're playing on the video...?

Geoff;

Re: Pipes & Drums;

From the image I posted, can be seen Black Watch, Tor Scots and Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. Could actually be the 'Massed Pipes & Drums' of the 2nd Inf Div, hard to tell.

Cheers

Geoff;

- it is the Massed Pipes & Drums of the 2nd Div and they are playing: "Blue Bonnets O'er the Border". The picture I posted is from the other direction, or from the left of the screen.

Cheers

Thanks Mark. I don't have that one on CD, will have to remedy. Will settle for "Highland Laddie" right now. Damned hard to find military pipe bands in the bloody music stores these day. I have the Scottish National Pipe & Drum Corps ('with Military Band') right now, can't find my Royal Scots Dragoons Guards recording...

Have to get some Canajun stuff.
