Default Friends in High Places!

Gentlemen; Hope you're all well. Here's a shot from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 613 Fonthill Ontario Canada (about 20 minutes West of Niagara Falls) of one of two last remaining Lancaster Bombers doing a "fly by" on Remembrance Day this year. Sure pays off to know people in High Places!

Default Canadian Warplane Heritage Lanc'

When the Canadian War Museum was opened, there was a crowd of people on the lawn outside. The dignitaries gave their speeches. The Lancaster did successively lower and lower passes. You can bet the tower at Ottawa International was worried they'd lose the radar contact amongst the ground clutter. One of those passes was during Gen Rick Hillier's turn at the mike. He stopped talking and said something like, 'I can't compete with the beautiful sound' and left the podium.

Default Just waiting for the Lottery....

A ride in the Lanc is on my bucket list. Just have to win the lottery. Want to take a couple of friends up too. Turns out someone at the Legion knows someone in Hamilton, who knows, who knows blah blah blah. The pilot makes a diversion over the Legion on his way back to Hamilton as a Salute to the Veterans. Great having those contacts!

Cheers....Robert
