13 Cab Sheetmetal
Gents,
I have a question regarding the sheetmetal that surrounds the radiator of the 13cab. Of particular interest is the bits of tinwork around the cross brace for the radiator support bracket. It appears that ( and I will get a picture this evening and post it ) the cross brace prevents the easy removal and installation of the radiator covering bodywork. There has been some trimming done to effect more clearnce around the cross brace. My old pal Tommy, the WW2 welder, said it was easier to cut that brace out to access the rad. Luckilly it is still there. Does anyone have a picture of what the sheetmetal around the radiator of a 13 cab ( Chev ) should look like? Were there small recess' for the cross member to nestle into, or nothing at all? Thanks in advance. Stewart |

Stewart,
Are you referring to the rad shroud, If it helps any I'll post a picture of the Ford version of that tonight. Mine seems to bolt on under the front grill. Rob |

The other side.
This is the other side - modified in a similar fashion.
Would 'fixing' it make it hard to get the radiator shetmetal off and on? Stewart |

Uh Huh (nodding up/down)
Peter,
I shall see you on the 'morrow. Stewart PS - I was trying to add another CMP sheetmetal pixture, when the wrong button was clicked. So now I have as new thread - I would have deleted it, but now you have replied. With a title " . " - I wonder how many thousand lonely CMPers will take the bait? I will give anyone who reads these words a free truck ride when the beast is on the road. SDL |

I'm closer
so can I go with you when you pick these other chaps up? I wouldn't mind sitting in the rear just to get a ride in a nice CMP. I hope Max would put on an extra cup.
Cheers, Barry |

around the world
Keith, that old plane you were in the other day, an old bomber wasn't it do you think you could fly it to pick some of these fellows, I'm sure they won't mind, save over loading the chev as it might fall through the ice.

For environmental reasons (Chevs just plain leak too much oil) Chevs are not allowed to go over the North Pole. As if the Exon Valdez wasn't bad enough, now you want to leave an oil trail from Ontario right through one of the last pristine areas on the globe.
Now a Ford would be no problem. |
