Default Keefy must be having good time

Haven't heard from him all week, rumour has it that he was flying to Temora for the air show this weekend.
No doubt we should see a picture or two

Hello, Max:

I just hooked up with Murray Calder and Don Lewis today at a Legion parade featuring Military Vehicles, in Kincardine, Ontario.

Tut, tut, tut...the stories I heard about you!!!!!!

It will cost you a crate of pre-paid, delivered Tim Tams to my home in order to keep me quiet about your shenanigans near Alice Springs.

See, I can be bought.

Now ... back to Keefy ... who should be back soon with many many photos I assume (how time flies when you're off having fun playing with flying things )

Default Well yes

This is the new Spitfire Mk XVI at Temora.

The great thing was he was kitted out in all original WW2 gear

Yesterday I went flying in a T28 so here's an almost SEG for you.

I smiled more after some aerobatics.

Guy Bourke in all the gear.

More pics here.

I'll be away until early October.

Don't worry Hanno, it's never stale.

I had to pinch myself when we were flying with the Spit - I actually had the luxury of just being able to watch it for a couple of minutes flying alongside us... then peeling off with a roar we could hear over our aircraft. It was gorgeous and something I'll always remember. I'm fully cognisant of the privilege I have being able to direct a Spit to do my bidding. What could be better?

Well perhaps TWO Spits off the wingtip could be better.

A Dutch friend of mine, was talking about late in the war, Holland was so short of food, that the RAF was actually dropping food to them.

His father likened the sound of the Merlin to.

"The sound of freedom".

Actual events to me, hold greater interest than fiction.

Regards

Col

Well, don't keep us in suspense! Did you get pics of the Two Spits flying together? That was the whole reason you were going to Temora, wasn't it?

Default Keefy sleep over

Keefy took his son Sam for his first drive in a blitz today and they both had that SEG look about them, much to Belinda's horror as she thought she taught him from birth that blitz's were yuk.

Max: Keefy sure does a supurb job in his airial photographs. As an amature shutterbug all my life, and haveing to struggled with shutter speed, light and grain, I can only imagine what Keefy could do with that new 4 gig digital camera that has just bean unleashed by a chap here in San Diego if it ever gets down to hand held size. God knows, is it never going to stop? I can understand you chaps love with the spits and it's beautiful sound. In the very early days of the Sicilian campain we were accidentally straffed by a group of spitfires. We had advanced too fast and they had failed to recognize how far forward we had gone. At that time I did not find the sound of those spits too entertaining. We were lucky we had no casualties.

Default 2 Spits

Oh yes, these Spits?

This was ground to air so it doesn't count... but fear not, plans are afoot to do a comprehensive shoot in the near future. One of the thoughts is for me to fly in the back of the Wirraway facing backwards while one of the Spits does barrel rolls over us. Sounds good to me!

Here's the chance for 3 spits in the air. The only other remaining Spitfire MkXVI in NZ is NOW FOR SALE! It's not currently airworthy, but new plugs and a tank of AVGAS will fix that.

Certainly seems worth the asking price, I'd even pay twice that amount.
