Anyone who can help with a scan of datas from somesort of TM's??? Will espessially need dimentions and wights, and if possible the serialnumbers to confirm this. Thanks in advance Rolf Here is a bonus.... (it is not the vehicle in question) Last edited by Rolf S. Ask; 20-11-05 at 10:47. |

thanks
Thanks Chris!!
It will help me! And Mike McKinley has promissed me a scan over the week-end of the info I need, so I guess I now have the info required. Also got a page from E. Beckers book sendt to me from a mate here in Norway. But the info there is not exactly the same It states 7500 lbs "inuquipment" which I guess means without equipment... whatever wquipment it is supposed to be... The bloke who needs the info have two Canadian Dodges and one of them he has licensed under 3,5 ton, but the autorities won't let him get the other under 3,5 ton. We have a new license class when the vehicle is over 3,5 ton and another one over 7,5 ton (and then some more classes) in this "easy living contry"... Chers Rolf |

Rolf, I am kind of suprised that your local transportation license office would give your friend a hard time over his second truck. If the first one is already licensed, surely they have set the precident. 3.5 tonne here is 1000kg x 3.5 = 3500kgs converted to pounds that is 7700 lbs. If your friends vehicle is used solely as a parade vehicle or driver, I'm sure it will never be loaded to its full payload. Are your rules for a vehicle's capacity or empty? Sometimes here we need to have a weight ticket from a scalehouse to prove the point...

Who have the power...
Chris.
You have probarbly met them once or twice, but when you bumps in to a official serviceman that "know everything" and tells you that the truck alredy licensed should not have been because of this anf that, you can't do much. They have the power and they know... We have had many accounts of different meanings from the officials regarding veteran vehicles. Of course there is set a prciedense, when one truck is approved, but they just love to make problems for you. I do know people that have taken their truck many many miles to the next transportation office, because there they do license the truck as you want it to be. And Yes, we can have a big truck licensed without payload, but it can be a long walk to do.. The rules are normaly for a loaded vehicle. Rolf |
