I agree Geoff. It really is nice to see that respect and honouring lives long in many's minds, even nicer when its shown in actions that share the knowledge for all to see ... gotta love that!

Post Thanks Carmen

Carmen,

Thankyou for bringing it to us, this young man was just 19yrs of age, same as my son now, and it makes it even more sad to know that he was soon to leave for England to be married.

Somethings are just not meant to be !

Hilary

Anybody seen anything published in like vein about another WWII Manitoban? A pilot, Ralph Naylor, with 418 Sqdn. I found it surprising that he is not acknowledged (at least wasn't last time I looked) on the web site for 418'ers. Died March 26 1945, buried in Groesbeek according to Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Hi Mary. I hope someone in here can help you. Meanwhile, if I get the chance, I'll try a little searching for you ... online, and maybe I could even make some calls around here (Winnipeg)???

Smile Ralph Edward Taylor?

Hi Mary,

I did manage to find Flight Lieutenant Ralph Edward Taylor, if you go on to " Veterans Affairs Canada "you will find him easy enough, and also you will see him in "The Book Of Rememberance"...

He was only 28yrs old, so young!, do you mind me asking is he your Father?...

Regards,

Hilary.
