seems that this news service might have it wrong.. Van Doos wearing glens?
and Canoe is operated by Quebecor..

They are actually from the Toronto Scottish Regiment, who mounted the King's Guard at Buckingham Palace in April 1940.

Mark : it must have been late April taking over from the R22R which was there from 12 to 21 April and which was the first "non-british" regiment to guard at Buckingham.

Was that incorrect news service photo used in any paper? Im thinking maybe one of the Sun papers perhaps? as they are Quebecor
