Default ANY INFO ? Most Intriguing!

Hi All

Can anyone help me identify this portable WW II wireless set?also the whip base. It has Multiple Power and current ranges. Switchable power output. Any information regarding this radio would be very much appreciated and what used for.

It's an AN/GRR-5, commonly known as the "angry 5". Info is here: http://www.radionerds.com/index.php/AN%7EGRR-5

Antenna is the standard US MS116,117,118 whip.

Link to manual at the bottom of the page.
