Default War and Peace 2011

Hi, Here are a few pics from war and peace prior to the weekend, lots of fun and good weather during the day.

Shaun, Many thanks for putting us up in the tent, I had to dash off to beat the traffic, thanks for the introduction to your group.

Rick, Great carrier and great use of modern materials.

Barry, Let us know when the exhausts are fitted, great to meet you at last.

Ben, Nice to meet you and put a face to a name, best to come over this coming month.

kevin.

Yes It was good to meet, I'll pop over for sure, I'll send you an email.

Too much to see and not enough time, shame I missed Rick's first outing in welland. I saw it at Christmas, he's done well to get it running so quickly.

shame i missed you too ben, (there's always next year) and good to meet you kev, i'm glad you liked my use of plywood and upvc plastic on the rad shroud, you never know it might catch on when the others see it.
even though the carrier was a long way from being battleworthy i'm glad i took a chance and went to beltring with it, i had a great 4 days and met some good people along the way, although it got a little stressy at times with the odd fault showing itself such as poor steering, poor brakes, no charging, carb not set up right, random gear selection regardless of stick position resulting in total loss of gears during arena display , no instruments, no tank breather and last but not least a loose nut on the steering wheel. other than that it was fine.

looking forward to next year

rick

As long as the loose nut was on the steering wheel and not behind it!!!

Sorry we couldn't catch up, like you say, perhaps next year if not before.

Congratulations on getting it there and getting it running. Teething problems are all part of the fun and challenge. It least there were plenty of people at the show with carrier experience to help.

All the best.

Ben

Rick I was stood right next to your carrier at one point. You were doing a 180'
turn from Shaun's area to the opposite field. You looked a bit stressed, otherwise I'd have talked to you. Ron

sorry ron but don't let that angry look stop you from saying hello as that's my normal expression, you should see me me when things really go wrong. funnily enough i actually realised at beltring that i need to take a step back and not take things so head on and serious and despite the odd setback i actually came away refreshed and ready to carry on with the restorations (at least for now)

all the best

The Loyd got dirty on the first day's becouse of the English weather, but he's British to so no worry's. We had a very good time with the Loyd. Even lost a track on the first day (to much stuf of Lex in my loyd).

Next year??

Sorry i have not talkt to you all of you but yust dont know all the faces.

Hi,

It was certainly nice to meet al those familiar names and put faces to them!

Some pics of the Carrier Platoon driving around the site. I rode with Shaun in Puddle Jumper. Barry's Carrier Jeane and Rick's Carrier Welland formed the rest of the Platoon.

Hi Folks,
It was good to touch base with so many off the forum, and all those that are currently building carriers. great to have a drive of Ricks machine, it drove like a carrier, just in need of some running adjustments ( looking forward to seeing it next year rick). As you can see from Marcs photos we did a bit of carrier racing in one of the back fields. Here is a photo of Carrier Barry, Me, Marc and Rick, it generally sums up the mood of the whole week. A great time was had by all. get your dates booked for next year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
