the only dd sherman in the world is at bovington

Dennis,

Thanks for sharing these great shots. I am currently working on a Duplex Drive scale model and these pics come in handy.

One thing though. The Bovington Duplex Drive is not the only surviving DD, but it is the only one kept in this good and complete condition and also the only one on M4A2/Sherman III base.

The others are:

Sherman V/M4A4 DD in Courseulles-sut-Mer, France
Sherman M4A1 (small hatch) DD in D-day Wrecks museum, Port-en-Bessin, France
Sherman M4A1 (big hatch) DD in D-day Wrecks museum, Port-en-Bessin, France
Sherman M4A1 (small hatch) DD near Salerno, Italy (?)
Sherman M4A1 (Big hatch?) DD on display at Slapton Sands (?)

There also used to be a post-war Sherman DD in Saumur, France?
and a Valentine DD in private hands in the UK.
