Ray Poularas has a Chevrolet Wireless Signals which although cut down has a lot of original features.

Ray is looking for a roof or rear body to put this all together.

Here's a link to Ray's page of pics: http://www.tuberadio.com/BLITZ/blitz.html

Default Neighbourhood

It's wonderful to see how an arrival like this instantly raises the tone of the neighbourhood.

Indeed Mate, The fun begins...
Must get the brakes and wheels done first, then I will evaluate how far she needs to go, Its looking very good underneath so far.

Good to see you're in, Ray. Looking forward to seeing lots of pics as you go along.

If you get a chance the next thing is the details from your data plate on top of the dash. I see yours has had the military instrument cluster insert.

Welcome to MLU, Ray,

You had better do a quick trip to Traralgon and save the SigVan on the side of the highway.

Regards Rick.

Here's a pic Rick took some time ago, as far as I know it and several others are still there on the Princes Highway, in the front of an old motel. What is not known however is whether it or any of the others are available for sale.

Good day Ray
Well done a nice project. This one looks very similar to a radio van that sold near Condamine in Qld a few weeks ago. I took a lot of photos of it in 2000. It still had the removed top with it in very good condition and a readable ARN on the back.
I actually bought the Condamine one , but then found out I had serious health problems and so I had to leave it there , no money changed hands so it wasn't a big problem.
I have a very rusty back off a radio van it wouldn't be any good to restore but it does have lots of brackets still on it.
I always thought that a radio van would be good to camp in at swap meets, I look forward to seeing your finished truck.
Regards Ken

Thanks for that Keith, Sorry Ray, I have been away for most of the past 10 days and never got back to you. These Blitz's are still there outside of Murphy's Motel at Traralgon, the place is now closed and looking a real mess.

Don't know what is going on there at all.

Regards Rick.

Now there's a concept...

A motel with blitzes would be a dream holiday location for any enthusiast.

I love the colour scheme on that Blitz! Makes me want to fill the back of it with dry ice and flog ice lollies out of it at the next MV rally!

Default Condimine Blitz

Hi Ken,
Guess what, This may be exactly the same truck.!
Was there a dodge six wheel near it too??

I rescued it from a Farm Sale up there. The two was steep but I struck it luck with a tow truck driver looking for a return load to Sydney.

Its Turning out to be not in bad condition underneath although I will need to check and go through everything to get her int tip top condition.
Hope your doing better now with your health,

Posted more photos under the parts list, on
http://www.tuberadio.com/BLITZ/blitz.html

Regards
Ray

Default Vans

Ah Ray hasn't updated us on the progress .

Anyway, to fill in a few gaps , the red Motel Sigvan was for sale at the Bendigo Swap, maybe 15 years ago , the seller was the chap from Whittlesea , he had the FGT ? that Tony W ended up with .
